On October 10, 2026, Dr S.B. Radebe hosted the 3rd annual Isikhumbuzo SikaGogo Siphokazi Winnet Mbiza at the Durban ICC in KwaZulu-Natal. The event welcomed several distinguished guests, including Inkosi Yamakhosi Omoya Imboni Dr. uZwi-Lezwe Radebe, Indlovukazi yesizwe samaSosha, Mr Sbusiso Lushaba, who is a Ward Councillor, Mr Nkanyiso Nzama, a representative from Ethekwini Municipality, Ms Tholiwe Ngidi from KZN Economic Development, Tourism & Environmental, 547689Mam Lilian Dube, actress Dawn Thandeka King, and Mrs Khothatso Hlophe, also known as Ugogo Westhembu, among others.
Isikhumbuzo SikaGogo is one of the flagship initiatives of the Dr S.B. Radebe Foundation—a unique platform focused on women’s empowerment, healing, and transformation. This initiative encourages women to move away from modern, standardised societal expectations and embrace their true roles as the centre and backbone of society.
This year’s theme was “LOOK TO WOMEN: THE ANSWER TO RESTORING ECONOMIES, HEALING FAMILIES, AND UPLIFTING NATIONS.” The event featured guest speakers aligned with the organisation’s mission to provide women with a platform to express themselves and reclaim their natural roles in society.
Each year, the event caters to the needs of women seeking a platform to address issues and discuss the best ways to elevate women globally. The significance and depth of this event drew the attention of Indlovukazi of the blue nation, who gave a groundbreaking welcoming speech, paving the way for the guest speaker.
“If we can celebrate mothers who gave birth to fake messiahs, shouldn’t we celebrate the women who gave birth to heroes?” remarked Indlovukazi yesizwe samaSosha. She further emphasised that it was Gogo Winnet’s love and guidance that shaped Inkosi Yamakhosi Omoya Imboni Dr. uZwi-Lezwe Radebe into the loving and respectful leader he is today.
“Every day is a new beginning, an opportunity to grow and become better versions of ourselves,” stated Indlovikazi.
The speakers celebrated the profound significance of women and their essential roles in society, reinforcing the spiritual teachings of Inkosi Yamakhosi Omoya, which emphasize that “the feminine energy is essential.” Mama Lilian spoke about the strength that derives from a woman’s beauty, humility, and resilience.
“Women can achieve monumental change, not just in our lives but in the lives of generations to come,” said Mam Lilian Dube. She further asserted that “the rightful rulers of the world are women, which is why the world is in such disarray. I am glad that Imboni Radebe also realizes this truth.”
Dawn Thandeka King, a renowned actress, discussed the importance of looking to women for generational wealth. “When you speak about wealth, people automatically think of money. But the wealth I am talking about is transferable wealth, in the form of resources, skills, and knowledge,” she explained. “I am honoured to stand in front of people and speak about a truth that is often overlooked: women have always been the backbone of generational wealth.”
Ms. King highlighted that education is a valuable commodity. This includes formal education as well as sharing knowledge with others to empower them and help them achieve self-sufficiency and independence. To teach others is to empower them and alleviate the fear of the unknown.
Gogo Westhembu emphasized how nurturing contributes to personal growth and collective stability. “Many people look down on polygamy, forgetting that it is part of our identity,” she said. She went on to stress that “embracing your identity and heritage is important, despite societal pressures and judgments.”
The event was filled with inspiration, bringing hope and encouragement to many. Although Inkosi Yomoya was not on the list of speakers, Imboni shared his wisdom, stating, “There are synergies—both strange and familiar.” He explained that familiar synergy is rooted in spirituality, asserting that spirituality is the only authentic foundation for humanity.
In remembrance of Mam Nandi Nyembe, an ambassador of Isikhumbuzo, a tribute video showcased her life and contributions to the organization. Staying true to the tradition of the organization, the program included entertainment, featuring performances by opera singer Nozuko Somi and Imitheme, who honored the late lead singer Mam Thaleni by performing “Ezwseni Lomoya” from their latest album.
This event was yet another stepping stone toward restoring dignity to African women.
