Sunday, February 12, 2023 marks history as the first of Africa Spiritual Day was celebrated at The Revelation Spiritual Home’s eBhubesini branch in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Uniting believers of different faith traditions in Africa to understand that we are one human family under one Creator, despite our perceived differences, the Interreligious Association for Peace and Development in Africa was founded in 2017 and affirms the unique and essential roles that traditions play in bringing about world peace.
With the understanding that Africa is the birthplace of spirituality, what better way to bring to the world the authentic and indigenous identity of the continent?
Amongst the forever flamboyant isizwe samasosha (the Blue Nation) was the Universal Peace Federation (UPF) delegation, who were joined by dignitaries from around the world virtually, who witnessed how the hosting African Indigenous spiritual institution expresses African Spirituality in their context.
The day incorporated of performances and knowledgeable insight on spirituality. Imboni iGogo Dr. uZwi-Lezwe Radebe leader and founder of TRSH and chairman of IAPD Africa, spoke profusely on the origin on the importance of Spirituality and the origin of Ubuntu so as the theme of the first of Africa Spiritual Day. “The world should seek wisdom from Africa. Should we all follow the right order and allow African Indigenous spirituality to take its leading position, Africa Shall rise and reclaim her former glory.” Said Imboni, The Nation’s Light Bearer.
The event is to take place every second Sunday of every month with the different countries of Africa showcasing what makes them unique by hosting this celebration.
