Imboni Dr uZwi-Lezwe Radebe debuted his children’s book “The Revelations of Imboni” at the Exclusive Book (EB) in Melrose Arch, north of Johannesburg, on February 6, 2022. The launch and signing attracted around 100 people when the books reached Gauteng from the publishers in Esimangalisweli (Cape Town), they were sold out two hours before the signing.
“This has never occurred before; we organize events like this virtually every week and sell 50 books at most, but never more than 50 in less than two hours.” Exclusive books Branch Manager Melrose Arch, Kgontsi Mosiane said.

“I wrote this book to promote decolonization and to teach our youngsters to value their African Indigenous Spirituality,” says the author. According to the book’s author, Imboni Dr uZwi-Lezwe Radebe. To make Africa a better place, we must begin teaching our children at an early age that African Indigenous spirituality is not demonic, but rather a way of life for Africans.
When asked why this book has become so popular despite the fact that African literature has become a thing, Imboni explained, “Many books written about Africa and her people are books based on the average things African hair, cuisine, culture, and maybe tradition, but never a book about African indigenous spirituality, so that is why this book has become a hit, people want to know about their spirituality.”
Imboni indicated in an interview with another TV channel that the book will be translated to other Southern African languages as well as three overseas languages. The book has also sparked interest for the adult version of “The Revelation of Imboni” The Book signings moved to other parts of South Africa, next on the list was Kwa-Zulu Natal and it did not disappoint. With more than 1000 books sold before the signing. KZN amplified the need for the book to reach part of the African continent. The book signings have been ongoing and the last signing was Emangalisweni’s Canal Walk and V&A Waterfront. The book has since made it to the top ten bestsellers list, ranking number one.
The next signing is said to take place in Mozambique.
