On Saturday May 31, 2025 Trillion Dollar Kids Club hosted a graduation for over 70 graduates between the ages 13 and 17 at the African Centre of Excellence Auditorium in Marshalltown, Johannesburg.
In attendance was Imboni Dr. uZwi-Lezwe Radebe, the founder of the TDKC, TRSH President B. Sibisi, TRSH Council and Upper House members, Abofakazi Nabaziyo, with Ethiopia’s Ambassador, Hailu Salie, Mongezi Mpofu, Kingdom Blue Funeral Services Sales Manager as well as Charles Mpofu from Nedbank.
Trillion Dollar Kids Club was launched 2 years ago by Imboni Dr uZwi-Lezwe Radebe. The club is focused on financial literacy in a bid to address the socio-economic challenges experienced in African communities. Furthermore, TDK aims to assist with the challenge of black people having a bad relationship with money and saving and investing to create generational wealth.
And the first cohort has successfully completed the first level of the program, aged 13 to 17 these champions have set the first foot foward by excelling in their respective areas of expertise.
From establishing new businesses to acquiring knowledgeable skills to equip them with the rightful tools to navigate the world.
Ms Ayanda Msipa, the teacher and Project Development Manager curated the programs with lessons that include financial literacy and life skills for the young leaders.
Amongst the activities that the program offers, the children have also been tasked to start businesses inspired by Dr. Radebe whose entrepreneurial journey begun at a very young age, from owning pigeons to Co owning the family’s spaza shop, Imboni’s journey is one to draw inspiration from as a form of encouragement for these young stars.
TDKC collaborated with Nedbank offering practical financial literacy. Charles Mpofu from Nedbank expressed his gratitude for having partnered with TDKC. “It truly is an honor to have collaborated with TDKC, a progressive institution and as a bank, we always look for ways to reach out to black communities to offer the financial literacy that will educate our people on matters related to money as a small portion of the black community is familiar with the principle of saving”- he added.
The excitement in these future leaders could not be missed as they shared their experiences with the club. “I’m proud of what we have achieved as a club. We will forever be grateful to Dr. Radebe, leader who saw something great in us and equipped us with the knowledge. We are living proof of Dr. Radebe’s vision”- said Sphesihle Ndlovu, TDKC Gauteng Vice Chairperson.
Keynote speaker, Imboni Dr uZwi-Lezwe Radebe ascended the podium with extending felicitations to these young stars, as they have fulfilled the mandate of Dr. Radebe as a leader who always cares for the future of Africa by educating these future leaders from a young age equipping them with fincial skills. The first group had a total of 90 graduates from Gauteng(29), Emazweni (21), Ezenzweni (12), Emangalisweni (12), Zimbabwe (15) and a graduate all the way in Ireland.
