JOHANNESBURG – The Revelation Spiritual Home (TRSH) has expanded its footprint in Gauteng with the official opening of two new spiritual centres in Springs and Lenasia, bringing the total number of its centres to 15 in Gauteng and 94 nationally and internationally since the institution was established in 2009.

Headquartered in Marshalltown, Johannesburg, TRSH has grown into a prominent African indigenous spiritual institution, attracting millions of Africans on the continent and in the diaspora who seek to reconnect with their identity, spirituality, and ancestral heritage.

The opening ceremonies were attended by community leaders, members, and residents. Among those present was Ward 74 representative Mr Thulani Zwane, who attended on behalf of the councillor’s office in Springs.

TRSH describes itself as an African indigenous spiritual institution mandated to restore African people, both on the continent and in the diaspora, to their ancestral spirituality and identity.

“We need to stop forsaking our ancestors and following the paths of others. TRSH is indeed a place that is intended to restore the African person and restore our relationship with our ancient greats,” he said.

For many first-time visitors, the opening of the centres provided an opportunity to engage with African spirituality in a new way.

“Today is my first time coming to TRSH, and I have learned so much about what it means to be an African, as well as the importance of venerating our good ancestors,” said community member Sakhiwo Bota.

Bota described the arrival of the institution in his community as a blessing, saying he had previously been taught to reject his African roots.

“We need to stop forsaking our ancestors and following the paths of others. TRSH is indeed a place that is intended to restore the African person and restore our relationship with our ancient greats,” he said.

During the services, several first-time attendees shared testimonies about personal and spiritual experiences. Some participants spoke about relief from long-standing ailments, while others described positive changes they attributed to the institution’s spiritual practices.

One attendee from Lenasia said she had struggled with persistent chest pains for several years and had found little relief despite seeking medical assistance.

She explained that before the official opening of the spiritual centre, representatives of the institution conducted outreach activities in her area, during which water was blessed and distributed to community members for use in their homes to dispel negative spirits and energies.

“My life was very difficult. I struggled to find even temporary employment, but after using the water, I started noticing changes in my life. I am now receiving calls for job opportunities. I am so glad that this spiritual institution is now here to stay,” she said.

According to members, some attendees also experienced spiritual manifestations during the services, which they viewed as opportunities for ancestral guidance and communication.

TRSH maintains that the institution establishes centres in communities where residents themselves identify a spiritual need.

“I was lost. I was caught between practising African spirituality and following the path of religion, but coming here today has assisted me in making up my mind. The presentations and teachings taught me the value of my ancestors and the ancient way of life of African people,” said Sellester Muxanga, a first-time visitor from Lenasia.

The opening ceremonies drew significant community interest, with approximately 182 new attendees at the Springs centre opening and 120 new attendees at the Lenasia event. Many were visiting TRSH for the first time. Overall, more than 2,000 people attended the two events.

The institution says the new centres represent another step towards the restoration and preservation of African spirituality, providing spaces where Africans can learn about their history, identity, and cultural heritage.

TRSH is expected to continue its expansion, with another spiritual centre scheduled to open in Moroka North, Soweto, on 27 June 2026.
