Today, the Omama of The Revelation Spiritual Home (TRSH) held their annual conference in Maputo, Mozambique, themed “Sisterhood.”
The event served as both a spiritual and social catalyst, drawing a remarkable number of attendees from across Southern Africa. Participants gathered to discuss the spiritual teachings of Inkosi Yamakhosi Omoya Imboni, Dr. uZwi-Lezwe Radebe.
The conference showcased the extensive reach of the group, oMama beKhaya, with attendees coming from South Africa’s Gauteng Province, Ezenzweni (Eastern Cape), Emazweni (KwaZulu-Natal), Mpumalanga, and other SADC countries, including Eswatini and Zimbabwe. This underscores the significance and resonance of Inkosi Yamakhosi’s spiritual message: “The Power of Sisterhood.” This message aims not only to eliminate hostility among women but also to foster unity.
Traditionally, African women are seen as nurturers who build, protect, love unconditionally, and support one another. However, over time, the influence of Western cultures and the neglect of African indigenous spirituality have led many women to stray from their true essence and adopt foreign traits.
Research indicates that conflict among women often stems from a mix of socialised competition, internalised misogyny, insecurity, and intense pressure to conform to societal or beauty standards. These dynamics frequently manifest as indirect aggression, jealousy, or distrust, often arising from a perceived scarcity of resources or power.
Acting Leader Mam Khuthala Sneyi delivered a powerful address urging women to shift away from competition and jealousy toward a culture of nurturing and solidarity.
As an African indigenous spiritual institution based on love, TRSH aims to combat negative behaviours through its spiritual teachings, which guide modern African women in understanding their roles in society and the true meaning of beauty.
The teachings emphasise that women are the soul of the home and possess a silent power that builds and sustains families. Over time, these reinforced spiritual teachings have helped TRSH women recognise that beauty is defined not only by physical attributes but also by internal qualities such as kindness, humility, and love — love not only for men but also for fellow women.
The conference also provided a platform to address pressing issues that affect women, such as Gender-Based Violence (GBV), which is recognised as a significant barrier to family development. GBV prevents women from seeing themselves as essential members of society rather than merely objects for male amusement.
Ms. Solange Morais, a professional financial advisor, emphasised the importance of economic stewardship. She advocated for the use of stokvels and community-based savings initiatives to ensure financial resilience, while also stressing the need to mentor young girls in financial responsibility. This approach is viewed as one of many solutions that will not only empower women but also reduce the troubling trend of dependency.

The true definition of Omama are those who are guided spiritually and apply those teachings to better their homes and become a good example to their children and in society at large.
