The book review and signing of The Revelation Spiritual Home, authored by Dr Massimo Introvigne and Rosita Sortye, held at Exclusive Books, Bedford on 31 January 2026, marked a deeply profound and historic moment of spiritual reflection, intellectual engagement, and the ongoing restoration of African identity.

This significant gathering brought together spiritual leadership, traditional authority, and scholarly voices in a rare and meaningful convergence that affirmed the growing global recognition of African Indigenous Spirituality (AIS) as a living, evolving order of knowledge, one that restores dignity, memory, and identity to a people whose spiritual narratives have long been misinterpreted, marginalised, or erased.

The event was graced by the esteemed presence of HRSM, Inkosi yamaKhosi oMoya Imboni Dr uZwi-Lezwe Radebe, whose attendance powerfully affirmed the urgency and necessity of reclaiming spiritual identity through truth, scholarship, and lived spiritual practice.

The presence of Dr Joy Ndwandwe, Maharaj Bhakti Gauranga Swami, and Prince Thulani further enriched the dialogue, reflecting inter-spiritual solidarity and a shared acknowledgement that identity restoration lies at the heart of spiritual wholeness. Also in attendance was African Hidden Voices, The TSHK Council Members, and The TRSH Council Members, whose collective presence underscored the institutional strength, continuity, and leadership of The Revelation Spiritual Home (TRSH) as a custodian of spiritual knowledge and a guiding force in the reclamation of African spiritual identity.

Dr. Massimo Introvigne

In his address, Dr Massimo Introvigne offered a critical scholarly perspective on the nature of African Indigenous Spirituality and its institutional expression. He clarified misconceptions that often surround African spiritual institutions, stating:“When you write a book, you do not summarise, you bring together history, lived experience, and meaning.”He further emphasised that TRSH should not be mischaracterised as a new religious movement, explaining, “New religious movement institutions are not movements in the spiritual sense. TRSH is not new as a spiritual system or belief.”

He made a vital distinction by adding, “The Revelation Spiritual Home is not new as a movement or as a religion. It is new only in its legal and institutional form. He further emphasised that TRSH cannot he spoken about with talking about its founder, Inkosi yamaKhosi oMoya Imboni Dr uZwi-Lezwe Radebe.

Addressing the revival of African Indigenous Spirituality, he firmly asserted,“The revival of traditional African Indigenous Spirituality is not something new. It is ancient. What we are witnessing is not the creation of something new, but the reawakening of something that has always existed.”These reflections positioned the book as both an academic and spiritual corrective—one that reclaims African spirituality from historical distortion and situates it within its rightful intellectual, cultural, and global framework.

Adding a deeply introspective and challenging perspective, Inkosi yamaKhosi oMoya questioned the broader implications of knowledge production and ownership in matters of African spirituality.

HRSM reflected on why the spiritual realm had deemed it necessary for a European scholar to undertake the task of documenting African Indigenous Spirituality, raising concerns about African intellectual participation and responsibility.

“One must ask why the spiritual realm had to send a European scholar for this task,” questioned Inkosi yamaKhosi oMoya. While acknowledging the value of scholarship, HRSM expressed concern over the limited visibility of African scholars in this critical space, stating, “It is a shame that African scholars are so far behind in matters of African Indigenous Spirituality,” said Inkosi yamaKhosi oMoya.HRSM emphasised that spiritual restoration cannot be separated from identity, cautioning against the continued acceptance of imposed identities that are disconnected from ancestral truth, “Identity is important. You cannot accept an identity that does not belong to you.”

Extending his call beyond individuals, Inkosi yamaKhosi oMoya urged traditional leadership and institutions to take collective responsibility in the restoration of African identity, stressing,“Our kingdoms should be joining the cry to restore identity.”

His contribution resonated strongly with the core message of the gathering—that reclaiming African Indigenous Spirituality is not only a spiritual act, but an intellectual, cultural, and generational duty that requires African voices to lead, define, and preserve their own sacred knowledge.

Dr. Joy Ndwandwe

Dr Joy Ndwandwe, in her contribution, reflected on her initial response to the invitation and its deeper significance within her academic and spiritual journey, stating:“When I received the invitation, I questioned it. Then I realised that this is part of my work, work that seeks to integrate indigenous knowledge and modernity.”

Her remarks highlighted the importance of dialogue between ancestral wisdom and contemporary scholarship, affirming that African Indigenous Spirituality must not be confined to the past, but recognised as a dynamic system capable of engaging modern realities without losing its essence.

Rosita Sortye

Co-author Rosita Sortye offered a humble yet powerful reflection on the process of compiling the book, shedding light on the depth of work required to document sacred knowledge:“To write something small, you need a lot to compile the information.”

She explained that the publication itself is a reflection of careful listening, research, and respect for lived spiritual experience, adding:“This book is just that, a compilation of journeys, voices, and truths.”She further emphasised the importance of acknowledging the collective journey of spiritual restoration:“We must acknowledge that we are on a journey. We speak from emotions, from motion, and from experience.”She concluded with a moment of deep humility and historical reflection, stating:“This is a moment of humility, of understanding the history of my country and the history of my ancestors.”

She also challenged dominant paradigms, noting:“The Western world has placed us in the thinking of the mind alone, often disconnecting us from spiritual memory.”

Mr Ashley Majika

Offering a reflective response to the publication, Ashley Majika shared how The Revelation Spiritual Home resonated with him on a deeply personal and intellectual level:“My understanding of the book is clear. It sparked my deepest attraction.”He emphasised a critical distinction central to African Indigenous Spirituality, stating:“African Indigenous Spirituality is knowledge—not belief.”

The reflections delivered throughout the event collectively affirmed that The Revelation Spiritual Home is far more than a publication. It stands as a spiritual record, an academic witness, and a powerful tool for restoring identity—situating African Indigenous Spirituality within its rightful historical, cultural, and global context.Through the written word, memory is preserved, truth is reclaimed, and individuals and communities are invited to reconnect with who they are, where they come from, and the spiritual systems that have sustained them across generations.

The dialogue throughout the gathering reinforced that identity restoration is inseparable from spiritual healing and societal renewal.

The book signing concluded the gathering with a deep sense of reverence, symbolising a moment where spirituality, identity, and scholarship converged. It affirmed that documenting sacred knowledge is itself an act of restoration—preserving truth, empowering future generations, and safeguarding African spiritual identity.

Indeed, this was not merely a book review and signing, but a profound milestone in the ongoing restoration of African identity, spirituality, and dignity—honouring ancestral wisdom, engaging present realities, and laying a strong and grounded foundation for generations to come.
